Dr. ir. Frédéric Moens performed his PhD at the Research Group of Industrial Microbiology and Food Biotechnology of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium).
His research dealt with the microbial metabolism and interactions in complex fermentation ecosystems, namely the human colon fermentation and cocoa bean fermentation processes. After obtaining his PhD (2016) Frédéric Moens joined ProDigest bvba, which is a spin-off company that commercialized the various in vitro models developed at LabMET. His current role is Project Manager R&D.
